As the first point of contact for patients, the Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring a welcoming and professional experience. The ideal candidate will have prior medical office or customer service experience, strong communication skills, and a professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet all patients and visitors in a warm, courteous, and professional manner.
- Check in patients and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
- Verify and update insurance information; collect co-pays or outstanding balances.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments as needed.
- Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
- Coordinate with medical assistants and providers to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Handle patient forms, scan IDs, and perform data entry in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Qualifications
- Previous medical office or front desk experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all patient interactions.
- Familiarity with EHR systems is a plus.
