Mason
United Talent is immediately hiring an experienced mason to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry techniques, including bricklaying, concrete work, and stone masonry. The mason will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures such as walls, floors, chimneys, and other building elements. Attention to detail, precision, and a commitment to quality workmanship are essential for success in this role.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan masonry layouts and procedures.
  • Measure and cut materials to required specifications using hand or power tools.
  • Lay bricks, stones, or other materials to build or repair walls, arches, chimneys, and other structures.
  • Align structures with plumb lines, straight edges, or levels.
  • Apply mortar or other adhesives to bind materials together.
  • Construct corners by fastening in plumb positions and cutting bricks or stones.
  • Install firebrick linings inside industrial furnaces.
  • Repair, maintain, and restore existing masonry structures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Estimate material and labor costs for projects.
  • Provide guidance and training to apprentice masons when necessary.
Pay & Shift:
Pay starts at $15/hr, negotiable based on experience.
Monday through Friday, 7AM-3:30PM
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a mason.
  • Proficiency in various masonry techniques, including bricklaying, block laying, and stone masonry.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that require heavy lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
  • Attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in masonry is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
