United Talent is immediately hiring Custom Millwork Fabricator in Powder Springs, GA!

The Custom Fabricator serves as the highest-level fabrication expert within the assembly department. This role is responsible for leading complex, high-end, and fully custom millwork projects from concept to completion. The Custom Fabricator not only fabricates advanced and intricate pieces but also drives technical execution, solves design challenges, establishes fabrication standards, and ensures superior craftsmanship across all projects.
This position requires master-level knowledge of millwork fabrication techniques, materials, blueprint interpretation, custom design problem-solving, and workflow optimization. The Custom Fabricator acts as the technical authority in the shop and plays a key role in mentoring Senior and Junior Fabricators.

Essential Functions
Lead fabrication of complex, high-end custom millwork pieces requiring advanced craftsmanship and precision.
• Interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, engineering plans, and custom specifications; identify potential issues before production begins.
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and engineers to resolve design discrepancies and improve build efficiency.
• Develop fabrication strategies and sequences for unique or one-off custom projects.
• Oversee and ensure quality control standards exceed customer expectations.
• Perform advanced layout work, precision measurements, and specialty joinery.
• Select appropriate materials and fabrication methods based on project requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex fabrication challenges, structural concerns, and material inconsistencies.
• Establish best practices and standard operating procedures for custom builds.
• Supervise and provide technical leadership to Senior and Junior Fabricators.
• Train and mentor team members in advanced techniques and craftsmanship.
• Review material lists, verify quantities, and coordinate with inventory management to prevent shortages.
• Conduct final inspections and approve completed custom pieces prior to delivery.
• Maintain and calibrate advanced tools and specialty equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards and promote a culture of safe craftsmanship.


 
Pay & Shift: 
  • Pay Rate: $21-27/hr – based on experience

Requirements: 
  1. 6+ years of high-end custom millwork experience
  2. Will independently build complex, high-end custom millwork pieces from blueprints
  3. Expert at reading blueprints and shop drawings
  4. Strong problem-solving and independent project ownership
  5. Advanced skills with woodworking tools and machinery
  6. Detail-oriented with high craftsmanship standards
