United Talent is immediately hiring a Leased Housing Specialist for a public service organization supporting rental assistance programs!
This position supports federally funded housing assistance programs by working directly with program participants, landlords, and community partners. The role focuses on determining eligibility, processing certifications, managing case files, and coordinating housing assistance processes in compliance with federal housing regulations and organizational policies.
This is a fast-paced, high-volume position managing a large caseload and requires individuals who are community-oriented, detail-driven, and capable of maintaining professionalism when working with individuals experiencing financial or housing stress.
Job Duties
• Conduct eligibility interviews with program participants to collect and verify required documentation
• Evaluate household income, assets, and family composition to determine program eligibility
• Process annual and interim recertifications in accordance with federal housing program guidelines
• Calculate tenant rent portions and utility allowances using established formulas and policy guidelines
• Review requests for tenancy approval and determine rent reasonableness and affordability standards
• Prepare and process housing assistance payment contracts and related documentation
• Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation within case management systems
• Coordinate with landlords and program participants regarding unit transfers, rent adjustments, and contract changes
• Investigate income discrepancies using available verification systems and process repayment agreements when required
• Provide case management services to assigned program participants and maintain regular contact regarding program compliance
• Educate participants and landlords about program policies, responsibilities, and procedures
• Assist with voucher issuance and housing search processes for eligible participants
• Address tenant-landlord concerns and assist in resolving disputes when appropriate
• Identify potential fraud, misrepresentation, or program violations and document findings according to policy
• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive client and program information
• Assist with outreach to landlords and community partners to expand housing opportunities
• Provide general administrative support including scanning, data entry, record maintenance, and workflow tracking
• Maintain consistent communication with supervisors regarding complex cases or unresolved issues
• Provide support coverage for team members as needed

Work Environment
This position operates primarily in an office setting and requires extensive use of computers, electronic case management systems, and office equipment. Work involves frequent interaction with members of the public experiencing housing instability, financial hardship, or other stress-related circumstances.

This position manages a large caseload and high administrative workload, requiring strong time management, organization, and attention to detail.
Pay and Schedule
$14.75 per hour

Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Additional training in office administration, business, accounting, or related field preferred
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in housing programs, real estate, social services, public administration, or a business office environment
• Strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and computer database systems
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately and efficiently
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on assignment
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
• Additional training in office administration, business, accounting, or related field preferred
