Recently, a gentleman came to our office in need of a job. He was new to the area and far from his family and friends. He rode a bike for transportation and needed a position that would be close to the hotel he was living in at the time. He was at his wits end and didn’t know what he could do to better his situation. He was willing to take whatever position we could find that would help him work right now.
We offered him a warehouse position near the hotel he was staying in and he started the very next day. He averaged close to 60 hours of work a week, so earned good pay and overtime wages.
We heard from the warehouse supervisor that this man’s performance was the best he’d seen in the warehouse. Immediately, the client began plans to hire him on as a permanent employee. And they did!
The gentleman called our recruiter to thank her for the opportunity to work for a company that valued his work ethic and the energy he brought to work each day. His situation fueled him to make the best of what was difficult for him. He was thankful for United Talent giving him an opportunity to work with other agencies turned him down because he rode a bike to work every day.
