Tonya was convinced we wouldn’t hire her, that United Talent would be one more dead end in her job search. She was a recovering addict and had a criminal record. She felt like her world was ending. But she was determined. Our staffing specialist Pamela was equally determined to help Tonya find – and keep – the right job. “Honestly, I was reluctant to hire her for a warehouse position,” Pamela said. “I always want to make sure I’m placing the right people with the right jobs.”
After getting to know Tonya, Pamela was able to find her a warehouse position.
They stayed in touch every week for Tonya’s first six weeks on the job. There’s that determination again! Tonya’s love of the job grew week after week until she was hired as a permanent staff member. United Talent’s customer said she has been the best employee they’ve had in a long time and that she’s never missed a day of work.
Tonya said, “I appreciate you sticking your neck out for me! You made a huge difference in my life just when I needed it.”
